Barcelona is a wonderful city, especially if you like parties, beaches, arts and unconventional architecture:) It has plenty of things to see and to do. It’s never enough time to see everything in full..
To make your life easier we’ve listed the most iconic places of Barcelona, to capture the spirit and the beauty of this city.
Day 1 – the Gaudi day
- gorgeous park Guell
- iconic Sagrada Familia
- marvellous Hospital of St. Paul (it’s not Gaudi work, but it’s close to Sagrada Familia and it’s amazing piece of architecture).
- Mind-blowing Casa Mila – also known as La Pedrera or “open qarry” as a reference to its unusual rowugh-hewn look.
- From Casa Mila walk to Placa de Catalunia, you’ll pass Casa Batllo – another masterpiece of Antoni Gaudi, colorful, weird, and amazing:)
Actually, it’s better to spread visiting these places into 2 days:) They are worth of taking lots of time to admire them in full!
- At night go to the beach: to party latina style and then to relax listening waves of the sea..
Day 2 – Spanish glory
- Montjuic park: It’s a huge park with lots of stuff to see and to do, e.g. Castle with a very nice view over sea. From there take a cable car and enjoy stunning views.
- Poble Espanyol – a lovely Spanish “village”with shops, architecture and food representing different regions of Spain.
- Close to Poble Espanyol there is CaixaForum with music, workshops, lectures and exhibitions. Check if it is of interest for you.
- At night take some sangria and stay at the Magic Fountain to watch amazing music show of dancing fountains.
Day 3 – Catalonian vibes
- walk along Rambla – a trendy vibrant and croaded street making you to feel the essense of Barcelona.
- get lost in Gothic quarter in the heart of old city of Barcelona. Sense the history, the culture of medieval gothic Barcelona.
- If you are fancy for football, Barcelona FC is a must place to visit.
Have more time?
Go to mountains of Montserrat and Tibidabo (both outside of the city). Both hold a beautiful gothic style monastery on the top with stunning panoramic views. You can look over Barcelona from the top of Tibidabo.

*** Travel Practicalities ***
Where to stay:
We stayed at Placa de Catalunya. It’s a very central location:
- Famous Rambla is (starts) there.
- Walking distance to many sightseeing stuff.
- Plus at the square you have bus stops that will bring you to more remote sightseeing places. Also Hop-on/off stops are there.
Minor disadvantage – due to its central location there are many people. But it’s always a choice: quiet but far or central but crowded.
Transport: Use metro and walk by foot.
Eat & Drink: Tapas & Sangria!:)
